Get to know: John J Wall

You know the Trust Insights team for the work we do. Did you know that there are humans behind the machines? Believe it. We thought you’d enjoy getting to know us on a more personal level. Here are some things you might not know about Partner John J Wall:

six million dollar man

Do you believe in ghosts?

Yes, we don’t know what life is. It seems probable that we might cast a shadow or leave some waves after we go.

How many bones have you broken?

A thumb, a few toes and my nose, nothing major (yet).

Do you eat Oreos as a sandwich or do you open them up?

Sandwich, double stuff thank you.

Dogs or Cats?

Dog (Annie the Black Lab). I’m allergic to cats.

What super power would you have?

I’d go with rich, it works well for Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne. If you’ve ever thought about this John Hodgman is hilarious discussing it here: https://www.thisamericanlife.org/178/superpowers

Twizzlers or Red Vines?

I’m not into sugar and red dye. If it’s gas station snacks I’ll go Drake’s Cakes.

One little-known fun fact about you?

I used to run a miniature golf course.

Go to Karaoke song?

My wife is professionally trained and has assured me I’m Luther Campbell, not Luther Vandross.

What is your spirit animal and why?

The dog. I’m excited to see my friends and easily motivated by food.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

Summer on the beach, winter in the mountains, and Coit Hill in San Francisco.

What do you do on your days off?

I have two kids.

Secret talents?

I’ve remodeled a bunch of apartments that were torn down to the studs. I don’t want my neighbors to know that I can do plumbing, heating, and other home repairs. My wife was an apprentice electrician for her Dad so if we were smarter we would have tried to be Chip and Joanna Gaines.

Do you speak any other languages?

Enough French to get me from the airport to the hotel

Guilty pleasure?

Video Games (my son is the perfect excuse)

Favorite band/genre of music?

R&B, Country, Metal, Jazz

One article of clothing you can’t live without?

Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

Favorite weird word?

Shillelagh

Least favorite food?

Oysters

Biggest pet peeve?

Mean people

Favorite celebrity encounter?

The Six Million Dollar Man (see above)

Favorite book?

Chi Running by Danny Dreyer: https://amzn.to/2ASptF9

It’s not that it’s a great read, but that it made me re-learn how to run, and run again when I thought I never would. I’ve given away over 20 copies of it, it’s my “Low Carb, Vegan, thing you don’t want somebody to corner you with at a cocktail party, topic”

Favorite quote?

“Look out for each other and never give up.” J.K.

How do you like your eggs?

Scrambled with Cooper Cheese and a dash of Bob’s Habanero Sauce.

Do you collect anything? If so, what?

Music. My iTunes library is 15k items, 85GB

Best thing about working with Chris and Katie?

To be blessed working with people I trust and admire, where every day includes tech, audio, and New Jack Swing, in the never-ending quest to gather happy customers!
